Upcoming Trail Maintenance Projects, CTC Events, & Fundraisers
Logan Ranger District – National Trails Day - Adopt-A-Trail kick-off and Trail Corridor Workshop: Saturday, June 3, 2017 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Springhollow Trailhead/Campground, Group site 2. (Spring Hollow Campground is located four miles east of Logan, Utah in scenic Logan Canyon, adjacent to the Logan River on U.S. 89 at milepost 378.5). The Logan Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest invites the public to join us for National Trails Day, the Adopt-A-Trail Program kick off and a Trail Corridors Workshop. The public is invited to participate in the community wide event in celebration of National Trails Day. The ongoing efforts offer fun, exercise, a chance to meet new people as well as give back to the local community! Our trails crew will be on site to provide information on trail corridor clearing and management and you will be able to participate in a hands on trail project. We will also review design parameters, Trail Management Objectives and much more! The goal of this event is to introduce the Adopt-A-Trail Program and provide volunteers with the skills needed to maintain your adopted trail or just volunteer to work on a trail project! It is designed for individuals and community organizations that want to make a difference through volunteering to help keep the trail system accessible, clean, and enjoyable. Through the Adopt-A-Trail Program, the public, in partnership with the National Forest Systems, preserves the access to our forest and assumes responsibility of the basic maintenance of a selected trail or trail section. In this way, those of us who use the trails can share in the stewardship, ensure that they remain safe, minimally obstructive to the environment, and satisfy recreationalists. Today, collaboration has become essential to fulfilling the Forest Service mission of "Caring for the land and serving people". Communities, private landowners, corporations, non-profit organizations and citizens are critical components. Your willingness to donate your time and services to participate in the Adopt-A-Trail program is greatly appreciated. Please join the Logan Ranger District as we work to protect our land by maintaining our trail systems for generations to come!
